For Capt. C.H. Layard I am guessing that it is Charles Henry Layard born 25 June 1838 London, England. Died 25 June 1883 London, England. He was the son of Henry Lewis Layard 1808-1871 and his wife Catherine Thurlte nee Dent. Henry Lewis was the 4th of the 26 children born to Charles Edward and Barbara Bridgetina Layard. I have no record of him marrying which complies with Burke's ......re Capt. See Times of London below. And his probate record indicates he lived in Ceylon for part of his life. Also featured here.

F.H. Layard - I'm guessing Frank Henry Layard born 18 April 1872, son of Henry William Griffith Layard and his wife Edith nee Willisford. H.W.G. Layard was the grandson of Charles Edward Layard through his son Henry Lewis Layard. Frank Henry Layard married Annie Davenport nee Moore or Noone...(it appears differently on several documents) in India in 1896. They had at least five children. On the enlistment papers for their son Edwin it states that his father Frank Henry Layard worked for Gordon Fraser Ltd., Colombo...and there are records of numerous passenger lists between England and Ceylon on which Frank Harry Layard appeared.

S. Layard - I'm guessing he is Frank Henry's brother, Sausmarez Layard. Could have been many of the women in the Layard family who were Sarahs but Sausmarez seems to have travelled often between England and the far east. I do not have much on him however, other than date of birth 13 Oct 1875, parents Henry William Griffith Layard and his wife Edith nee Willisford. He died Sept 1923 Christchurch Hampshire. No record of marriage. This passenger list has him as a planter.

Henry W. Layard - I'm guessing Henry William Griffith Layard born 17 Oct 1839 London, England, son of Henry Lewis Layard and his wife Catherine Thurtle nee Dent. H.W.G. Layard married Edith Willistford, 7 Aug 1867 and had 9 children. I have him on the 1881 Census living in Guernsey Channel Islands where he is listed as a retired coffee planter and he died 24 July 1883.
