ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s services exports grew 9.56 percent to 723.68 million US dollars in the five months to April 2023 from a year earlier, the island’s Export Development Board said.
Up to March Sri Lanka’s services exports grew 5.8 percent to 543, the EDB said last month, indicating that April services exports were 180.68 million US dollars.
The services exports are an estimated made by EDB on exports of ICT/BPM, construction, financial services transport and logistics.
In 2022, services exports were up 55.9 percent to 1.8 billion Us dollars, according to EDB estimated data.
Up to April Sri Lanka’s merchandise goods exports were down 16.15 percent to 814.1 million Us dollars, based on the data. (Colombo/May 28/2023)
