ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s tea production fell 3.2 percent from a year ago to 19.58 million kilograms, industry data showed, while output for the 11 months was up from last year, industry data showed.
Tea production was going up in October, with fertiliser application and rainfall availability rising.
Up to November, production increased by 1.6 percent, from 232.13 million kilograms in the corresponding period in 2022.
High grown tea production had increased by 2.37 percent and Mid grown tea production had grown by 6.44 percent, while low grown tea production had shown a negative trend by 0.07 percent. (Colombo/Dec21/2023)
