Although a staggering sum of Rs. 328.4 million has been reserved for sales promotions of Ceylon Tea from the period of 2015 - 2018, the benefits have proven to be unmeasurable, reports say.
On Nov. 06, 2015, a sum of Rs. 195.3 million has been released after the Sri Lanka Tea Board had signed an agreement with a private company.
However, the objective has not been met after being unable to choose an institution for media related activities.
Even though a TV commercial was designed by April 2016, it was not telecast even by August 31, 2018.
Although money is being directed overseas for promotion activities, it is said that the Tea Board lacks a mechanism to measure the positive outcomes of this.
