Tea VS. Coffee: Which one is better?
Tea lovers can't empathise with coffee addicts and likewise. Like it or not, the war between tea and coffee lovers is real. Both beverages contain caffeine, excess of which is bad for us but there are benefits of each that make them stand apart.
But still if you were to say which one is better, setting aside your bias for your favorite one, we are sure you don't know the answer. Well, without wading into tea versus coffee argument, we come straight to the point...
Sleep
According to researchers at the University of Surrey, UK, those who drink coffee find it harder to sleep at night than those who have the same amount of tea. So here tea is a winner.
Dental hygiene
Both are known to impact your pearly whites, but which one is worse? According to experts, the pigments from tea tend to affect your dental enamel more than coffee. So here coffee is the winner.
Calming you down
Between tea and coffee, most experts believe that tea drinkers tend to be better in handling unsettling life situations than coffee drinkers. However, another study established that people who have coffee showed resistance to long term mental issues.
Protecting the heart
They both prove to have surprising health benefits, protecting your cardiovascular health being one of them. While coffee has slightly more benefits with regard to your heart health, but tea isn't far behind.
Bone health
People who drink tea everyday have higher bone density and thus slower rate of bone loss. While coffee on the other hand can affect bone density negatively leading to osteoporosis.
VERDICT
Tea seems to be the healthier drinks between the two. Having said that, we must know that both the drinks can be a part of your healthy diet, provided you take them in moderation. Furthermore, the time of consumption plays an important part.
