Originally published in 1859, the Ferguson’s Ceylon Directory (later Ferguson’s Sri Lanka Directory) was published on more than 125 occasions, before finally calling it a day after the 1997-99 edition, which was released in 2000. The Ferguson’s Directory is an exhaustive compilation of statistics and information on the country’s private and public sectors, which includes comprehensive information on the plantation industry too.
